WHY DO WE NEED A HEALTHY REVOLUTION ?
(Still) WORKING ON IT!
When I talk about diet, I mean just 'what I eat' in the course of the day, not some specialized regiment or temporary 'quick fix.'
Your diet is what you put in your mouth.
The extreme difficulty of regulating what kinds and amounts of food we eat is that, unlike other substances we may need to moderate more effectively, we have to have food.
It isn't a luxury or an avoidable demon.
We have to make peace with its presence in our daily lives.
But it doesn't have to be an adversarial relationship.
Food is an arm of our daily consideration of our health. With most of us, the problem with food lies in habits. The ruts we get in when we are accustomed to doing something a particular way.
We can change; it's simply very difficult.
We may have a history of eating a particular type of food, either through family history or through lack of options or from necessity. We may have emotional eating habits, as we have used food as a 'treat' for battered emotions, and now equate food as a physical comfort that we don't find elsewhere.
Or perhaps we have just never considered the importance of being diligent and conscious of our actions in our own lives. The food we choose to put in our bodies effects every single aspect of our day.
