Keeping Positive, Day Four

KEEPING POSITIVE Day 4, 2009 Flashback

DAY FOUR : BREATHE!‏

DAY FOUR OF REVOLUTION:Back to Basics.

Breathe.

Sounds ridiculous, but we get so distracted in the course of our doing and thinking that we forget to do something so vital... correctly.

Do it while driving, waiting in line, sitting watching t.v.;
Deep slow breath in through the nose, then breathe slowly out through the nose.

(No, it doesn't have to be dramatic or attention-drawing!)

Congested? Difficulty? Feel weird? Just do it for short periods as often as you can. Your ability will improve. Before long you'll feel a difference from being in touch with it, and you'll also start doing it subconsciously on a regular basis.

Proper inhalation of oxygen and exhalation of toxins is healthy in many ways. It is a release of the gases we don't need, it releases tension,it regulates other functions.

When we just barely breathe (through rote) we typically are hunched over, or not breathing fully. Expanding the chest, lifting up, straightening spine and having the mind focused on our life-giving activity is a great exercise.
Very empowering.

Breathe in vitality.
Breathe out stress.
Breathe in acceptance.
Breathe out resentment.

It's a miniature therapy session, and it also relieves boredom in line!
