ARETHA KNEW IT--AND SHE TOLD IT!
DAY SIX: pick up sticks! (No, wait--that's not right!)
DAY SIX: R-E-S-P-E-C-T...find out what it means to thee!

We owe it to ourselves to command respect, and we certainly are disillusioned and discombobulated when we don't receive it. But respect starts within ourselves, for ourselves. Respect from others follows suit.

If we didn't get what we needed as kids, then we have to parent ourselves now; be our own providers and nurturers. That need not be depressing; it's logical. It's never too late to get what we need.

Start affirming for yourself today;
"I am deserving of happiness."
" I am worthy of happiness."
"I will do things that are for my benefit."
"I want to be happy."

That last one may be the deal breaker. Seems obvious , sure, but when we evaluate the things we allow to happen in our daily lives, questions as to "Just how much am I trying to be happy?" or "Do I really believe I deserve it?" can come up a lot.

It's hard to change habits. It's new, it's strange, it may even run counter to our programming of all these many years. But it's worthwhile.
The journey of 1,000 miles begins with just one step.

Think of it like this; How many times in our lives have we spent many minutes travelling, waiting in line to order, and waiting to receive some greasy unhealthy fast food 'for' ourselves? Now, isn't a fraction of that time --spent on something geared towards improving our quality of life --worth the effort as well?

Learn to appreciate and value who you are, what you want, and how you feel.
If you can't, how can anyone else?

Much love,
Roberto
